Yaaaaayyyyy cookie dough! Like my love for Disney, my love for cookie dough runs back to everything pure and wonderful about this childhood favorite. Like Disney, it is unadulterated by adulthood and is an easy escape from the grown-up decisions and responsibilities of your day.
Which is why I am SO excited to share this week’s bevy of over-the-top, fun-flavored recipes! Starting with the ODB . . .
Old Dirty Bastard cookie dough turns everyone’s favorite Voodoo doughnut flavor into a cookie dough recipe. Peanut butter cookie dough with swirls of crushed oreo, chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips!

If you haven’t been to Voodoo doughnuts, I HIGHLY recommend the stop over. I mean… where else do you get a little chocolate-iced voodoo doll you can stab over and over with a pretzel stick? They have crazy insane flavors and one for every mood or craving that strikes!
Pro Denver-ite tip? Hit up Voodoo doughnuts during the second quarter of the super bowl game. You’ll walk right up to the counter and be home before the half-time commercials! 😉
Cookie Dough Clues
I personally prefer to purchase my heat-treated flour from Page House, because (a) they have a well-tested process for killing 99.9% of the possible bacteria, and (b) it allows for last minute cookie dough cravings without having to heat treat the flour myself.
Do so at your own risk. Honeyville has recommended heat-treating your raw flour by toasting it. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spread your flour out on the baking sheet. Bake the flour for five minutes, remove from the oven, and allow to cool completely before using in your recipe. (Using hot flour will change the texture of the cookie dough.)

1 Pint
Serves 4
A peanut butter cookie dough base, swirled with crushed oreo, chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips!
20 minPrep Time
20 minTotal Time
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/4 cup shelf-stable peanut butter (e.g., Jiff or Skippy)
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (nonfat, whole, almond, etc.)
- 1 teaspoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons heat-treated all-purpose flour, cooled
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup oreo cookies, crushed (~6 oreos)
- 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter chips
- Optional: peanut butter drizzle, chocolate drizzle, extra oreos
Instructions
- Let your butter come to room temperature. (Important: Do not melt your butter. This will result in a greasy cookie dough.)
- Cream the butter and peanut butter together in a medium-sized mixing bowl very well. Add brown sugar and sugar and beat until well-combined. Add milk, honey, and vanilla extract and mix until just incorporated. Mix in flour, salt, and baking soda. (Be sure, if you've home heat-treated your flour, that the flour is 100% cool or it will change the texture of the cookie dough.)
- Stir in crushed oreos, chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips!
- Store leftover cookie dough in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks and in the freezer for up to three months.
- Want cookies? Remove the cookie dough from the fridge and let come to room temperature (about 1 hour). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake small 2-tablespoon sized scoops of dough at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 7-10 minutes. Let the cookies cool and set on the pan. (These cookies will not spread very much and will have just a slightly different texture.)
Notes
DISCLAIMER: The FDA has released information regarding the dangers of raw flour. Luckily, Page House sells a heat-treated flour that is safe to eat. Alternatively, you can heat treat flour in your oven, as described above. Please make sure you are using heat-treated flour so that you can enjoy cookie dough worry-free!
