I love Harry Potter.
Wait. No. Those words seem . . . not enough. How do I describe it?
How shattered I was when my eleventh birthday came and went and no letter from Hogwarts arrived? The fact that I could live and die in Harry Potter Land’s Diagon Alley, sipping pumpkin juice until the ironbelly dragon atop Gringotts finally gets me with a fiery blaze? The HP funko pop collection in my (totally) grown-up office? David’s and my wands displayed prominently in our home? My bitter glares at the little girl they chose at Ollivanders to play part in the magical wand demonstration? (I mean, seriously. Who does this tiny, adorable 8-year-old think she is??? She’s not even old enough to go to Hogwarts.)
I love October. Cold morning air, bright yellow leaves, orange pumpkins everywhere. And Halloween. The perfect excuse to geek out on Harry Potter-inspired recipes like frozen pumpkin juice, contemplate a gingerbread Hogwarts for Christmas, and watch the movies on loop. Anyone want to join me?
What is Frozen Pumpkin Juice?
A Harry Potter-inspired recipe designed to take you back to the kitchens at Hogwarts! Not HPO (Harry-Potter-Obsessed), like me? That’s okay. There is still time!
Pumpkin juice makes appearances throughout the Harry Potter series. And if you’re lucky enough, you can get yourself some by ordering up a glass of Harry Potter Land’s pumpkin juice. This recipe is my own fun, frozen version that’s great for HP marathons or Halloween celebrations in general.
I decided to base this recipe off my favorite orange julius recipe, mixing frozen apple juice and fresh pumpkin puree to get the perfect amount of sweetness. Don’t worry! There is enough pumpkin to really let the flavor shine, so don’t feel like you’re getting cheated out of your pumpkin juice. Adjust the pumpkin spice to your liking, but the below recipe is how I always make it! Cheers!
